ABOUT PETCREMATION.ORG
A quieter place to find answers.
PetCremation.org is an independent pet cremation guide, built because the first page of search results for pet cremation, in a person’s most painful hour, is usually not what they need.
What they find is often a cluttered directory designed to capture a lead. Aggressive pop-ups. Sales language dressed in gentle fonts. Affiliate links that feel like ads. None of this helps someone who has just said goodbye.
We set out to build something different. An independent, carefully researched guide, with clear pricing, plain-language explanations, and a directory of providers that you can actually trust.
Our editorial standards
Every guide on this site is written or reviewed by at least one of the following:
- A licensed veterinary professional
- A certified pet loss grief counselor
- A working pet cremation industry professional
Pricing data is collected twice a year through direct provider surveys — not scraped from a handful of sites. Our directory listings are verified by phone and, where possible, in person. Providers cannot pay to appear in our directory, only to be featured more prominently within it.
How we pay the bills
We’re transparent about this because the industry often isn’t. PetCremation.org earns revenue in two ways: featured placements within our directory, and affiliate relationships with a small number of national providers we’ve personally vetted.
Providers cannot pay to be listed, and they cannot pay to receive a favorable review. Featured placements are marked. Affiliate links never change what we recommend — if a provider we’re paid to refer is the wrong fit for your situation, we’ll say so.
If you ever feel a recommendation on this site steered you wrong, we want to know. Email us at [your email] and we’ll investigate.
We do not sell your information. We do not run retargeting campaigns. We do not send promotional emails unless you specifically subscribe.
What we will not do
- We will not rank providers based on how much they pay.
- We will not publish AI-generated grief content and claim it is written by therapists.
- We will not use urgency tactics (“24-hour deals,” “limited-time pricing”) on people who are grieving.
- We will not share or sell email addresses.
A note on grief
We are not grief counselors, and nothing on this site is a substitute for speaking with a licensed professional. If you are struggling after the loss of a pet, the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement (aplb.org) maintains a directory of counselors and support groups. The ASPCA also operates a pet loss hotline at (877) 474-3310.
Who’s behind this
PetCremation.org is operated by a small, independent team of pet parents — people who have stood in your shoes. We welcome feedback, criticism, and corrections. Here’s an expanded, more personal version you can paste into your About / Authority section or homepage:
About PetCremation.org
PetCremation.org is an independent pet cremation guide, built by a family that has said goodbye to more pets than we’d like to count.
We started this site because the internet fails grieving pet parents. Search for “pet cremation” in your most painful hour and you’ll find a wall of pop-ups, sales language dressed in gentle fonts, and affiliate links that feel like ads. None of that helps when you’ve just lost someone.
Our perspective is personal first. Between us, we’ve loved fish, cats, and a long line of dogs — Zeke, Geramy, FiFi, Shadow, and Merritt, the dog our three girls grew up with, named after the Merritt Parkway. Each of them was woven into our daily routines, our milestones, our memories. Each of them, eventually, forced us to navigate cremation decisions we weren’t ready for.
That experience is why this site exists. But it isn’t the whole reason you should trust it.
Every guide on PetCremation.org is written or reviewed by at least one licensed veterinary professional, certified pet loss grief counselor, or working pet cremation industry professional. Our pricing data is collected twice a year through direct provider surveys — not scraped from other websites. Our directory listings are verified by phone, and where possible, in person. Providers cannot pay to appear in our directory. They can pay for more prominent placement within it, and when they do, it’s always marked.
We built this to be a quieter place to find answers. We hope it helps.
The best memorials are quiet ones. That’s what we’ve tried to build here: a quiet memorial to every pet whose family once searched for help.
